چکیده

Significant advancements have been made in the technology and approach to catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF). Pulmonary vein isolation has emerged as the dominant strategy in this procedure and has fueled innovations in catheter design as well as various mapping and navigation systems. Mapping and targeting of complex fractionated atrial electrograms has also emerged as an additional or alternate strategy employed by some ablationists. Recently, attention is being drawn to a new approach targeting atrial sites with high dominant frequencies (DF) derived from their electrograms. This article is a review of the basic concepts of DF, the relevant literature behind DF analysis in AF, and the potential clinical applicability of DF analysis for catheter ablation.

Non-Invasive Estimation Of Left Atrial Dominant Frequency In Atrial Fibrillation From Different Electrode Sites: Insight From Body Surface Potential Mapping.

The dominant driving sources of atrial fibrillation are often found in the left atrium, but the expression of left atrial activation on the body surface is poorly understood. Using body surface potential mapping and simultaneous invasive measurements of left atrial activation our aim was to describe the expression of the left atrial dominant fibrillation frequency across the body surface. 20 pa...

A Simple Atrial Fibrillatory Wave Reconstruction Method for Frequency Analysis of Atrial Fibrillation Using Single- Lead Ecg

A cosine-function-based approximation method is proposed to reconstruct atrial fibrillatory wave in QRST intervals for estimating dominant frequency of atrial fibrillation (AF) using single-lead ECG. It is hypothesized that atrial fibrillatory waves in two adjacent QRST intervals can be approached by a cosine function and direct component. As harmonics of dominant frequency are neglected, the d...

Clinical Role of Dominant Frequency Measurements in Atrial Fibrillation Ablation - A Systematic Review.

Introduction Experimental data strongly supports a role for high-frequency sources in the perpetuation of atrial fibrillation, it follows that identification of areas exhibiting spectra containing high dominant frequencies (DF) may represent perpetuating sources and targeted elimination might terminate AF. The aim of this review is to present and critically appraise the literature on DF studied...

Non-invasive assessment of magnitude and dispersion of atrial cycle length during chronic atrial fibrillation in man.

AIMS Atrial fibrillation cycle lengths can be assessed from right precordial ECG leads and the unipolar oesophageal ECG using a non-invasive method called Frequency Analysis of Fibrillatory ECG. The purpose of this report is to present the results from application of this method in a large group of patients with long-term atrial fibrillation and to examine the differences between patients with ...

Effect of High Intensity Interval Training on the Level of Atrial Fibrillation, Fibroblast Growth Factor 23 and Klotho Protein in Male Rats with Renal Failure

Introduction: Cardiovascular problems and atrial fibrillation is one of the most prevalent secondary consequences in hemodialysis patients. This study aimed to examine the effect of high intensity interval training on the level of atrial fibrillation, fibroblast growth factor 23 and Klotho in male rats with chronic kidney disease. Methods: In this study, 30 male rats Wistar (7-8 weeks) were ra...
